March 2010

Every year Andy and I attend the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce Gala (Federal Way is the city that Andy's paper covers). Andy has to work the room, but I just get to dress up and hear all the praise from everyone in the community about how much they love him. During the event they always have an auction and this year we bid and won a guided snowshoe trip. So, in March we set out with a really nice couple who love to snowshoe and donate this trip to the auction every year. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day on Mt. Rainier which meant we were surrounded by pristine white snow and clear blue skies. It was a great adventure for just the two of us.

Taking a break and enjoying the view.

It was such a work out for my leg muscles. The next day I had to physically lift my legs with my arms to get in and out of our car.

At the top of our hike (well for me anyway). Andy went a little further and I headed back down to help get our lunch ready. Once we all made it down the mountain they made a gourmet lunch and we sat in the sunshine and got to know each other. A great day to say the least!

Again with the light sabers. This time we've added a cape (his blankie).
